Foundation

School of Leadership Foundation (SoLF) was founded in Karachi on November 10, 2005 as a “Field of Dreams” by Kamran Rizvi and Shireen Naqvi, its managing trustees.

SoLF serves as a platform (“field”)  for inspiring and impactful {“dreams”)  projects that address core problems we face in different sectors of our economy.

SoLF is led and managed by a team of sincere and competent professionals. We have a number of on-ground projects with partners from across the country.  Given below are a few examples:

  • UNICEF’s flagship programme in Pakistan – U-Report is being executed in 20 districts across the nation. The purpose is to provide a technology-based platform where the youth of Pakistan can voice their opinions via simple free text message (SMS), related to any issue in their community. It provides a real time monitoring tool that identifies bottlenecks and challenges in service delivery. Information provided by U-Reporters allows for quick responses and improvements. UNICEF’s strategic partner for this project is SoLF.
  • As an extension to ILMPossible Take a Child to School project with British Council and other partners, we are implementing DOSTI programme in 24 districts country-wide. DOSTI programme includes life skills education and sports coaching sessions which creates a positive learning environment in schools. The aim of this programme is to retain at least 80 per cent of the enrolled students in schools until the completion of their primary education.

Our vision is to see a world where everyone is cared for, has a voice, enjoys dignity and feels part of an all encompassing humanity. We see a Pakistan where individuals from all backgrounds – young and old, male and female – have woken up to their individual and collective responsibility of making a positive difference in their immediate spheres of influence. We see a nation that is characterized by a life of vision, diversity, integrity and simplicity.

Our strategy is to collaborate with individuals and organizations who share in our dream, to achieve challenging, meaningful, and inspiring ends.

Our world has more than sufficient resources to ensure such aspirations are realized. All we need is to connect those who have with those who need. To this end, we continue learning, growing and expanding our capacities to strengthen and sustain our mission.

Our origin invites us to act. We were conceived in a flash in our mother’s womb and today we stand as nerve endings of civilization. We are the very reason our ancestors ever lived. Failure to discover our role and purpose in this ever-unfolding chain of events would mean that we have not lived.

Our life becomes significant only when we live on purpose and play an active part in passing on the ‘baton’ to coming generations in a better shape than in which we received it.
